Jake Griffiths MSc, BSc, MIEMA — Managing Director, Green Business Centre
Jake Griffiths is the Managing Director of the Green Business Centre. He possesses extensive knowledge on environmental matters and exhibits a strong green ethos, which is exhibited in his personal life and political beliefs.
Jake has worked for many years across the UK as a Lead Environmental Auditor, Energy Auditor, Environmental Consultant and Environmental Trainer. He holds a MSC in Energy Systems and Environmental Management, a BSc in Environmental Science and is a Full Member of IEMA (Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment).
Throughout his career, Jake has developed a portfolio of environmental experience through his engagement in a number of sectors such as oil exploration, food and drink, manufacturing, Public Sector, healthcare and medical, engineering, forestry, pharmaceutical, and tourism.
Prior to starting the Green Business Centre, Jake project managed the delivery of a number of Sustainable Business Park programmes, from which significant business environmental improvements were reported over the lifetime of the project. He was part of the project management of the Objective 1 Sustainable Business Programme and a Business Environment Coordinator.
In addition to his Green Business Centre commitments, Jake works in partnership with Groundwork Wales (UKAS Accredited) as the Green Dragon Environmental Standard Technical Manager and Lead Environmental Auditor with responsibility for maintaining and developing the Green Dragon Environmental Standard and for ensuring the standard maintains its UKAS accreditation in line with ISO 19001 and 17020 requirements. Jake sits on the IEMA Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) Auditor Assessment Panel and is responsible for reviewing new assessors.
Jake’s other interests include cycling and playing the guitar and he was the Wales Green Party leader between 2009 and 2011.
